Each year, the prestigious Connoisseur Circle Hospitality Awards recognise the best hotels in the world, during what is one of the most important trade fairs in the international travel industry. Connoisseur Circle is one of Germany’s most highly regarded member’s clubs.

For the fourth consecutive year, Connoisseur Circle’s Hospitality Awards took place during ITB Berlin at a major gala event attended by some 400 guests, where Finca Cortesin was presented with the award for Best Hospitality Boutique Hotel 2016.

General Manager of Finca Cortesin, René Zimmer, comments: “We are thrilled that Finca Cortesin was recognised as the leading Boutique Hotel in these esteemed awards, in particular during an event as important ITB Berlin. It is a true testament to Finca Cortesin’s commitment to surpassing guests expectations during each and every stay.”

Finca Cortesin was also triumphant in the Klocke Verlag Hideaways Awards, a reader-voted award by the premium German travel magazine, Hideaways.

Since 1996, every year the readers of Hideaways vote for their favourite ‘hideaways’ based on their own travel experiences, as well as architecture, design and service elements. The awarding of the respected Hideaways Awards takes place during an exclusive reception ceremony during ITB Berlin each year, attended by the crème de la crème or the hospitality industry.

“For all the team at Finca Cortesin, the property is such a special ‘hideaway’ and we are proud to be sharing Spain’s best kept secret with our guests,” continues René Zimmer; “It is an honour that after years, Finca Cortesin still occupies a top position in the ‘Hideaways’ Reader Survey, and was recognised this week as Hideaway of the Year 2015.”

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, ITB Berlin is one of the world’s biggest travel trade shows, and has been hosted by the German capital for the past 50 years. First launched in 1966 as a minor event, hosting nine exhibitors from five countries and attended by 250 trade visitors, today it has become the world’s most successful platform for the travel industry. More than 180 countries were represented by some 10,000 exhibitors during the show, that took place from 9 – 13 March 2016 at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds.
