La Reserva Club, Spain, has begun the 100-day countdown to welcoming the Ladies European Tour (LET) for the return of the innovative Aramco Team Series Sotogrande, on 18-20 August 2022.

Using a unique draft system, team captains will pick one pro teammate, before being allocated a third via a random draw. Completing each team will be one amateur golfer. As well as competing for the team trophy, the professionals will also vie for an individual title, offering Rolex Rankings and Solheim Cup ranking points, and will be part of the Race to Costa del Sol Official Rankings.

She said: “I have proven I can play well at La Reserva Club, and I am determined to do so again.

Combining a fourball and individual prize, the event’s unique team format sees professionals drafted into teams of three combining with an amateur. With a $1m prize purse up for grabs, the pressure is on all members of the team as the winning amateur from the 2021 Aramco Team Series – Sotogrande, Ignacio Morillo from Spain, testified: “I cannot describe how hard it is to play for money that is not for you. It is not a normal situation for an amateur.”
