New times for Doña Julia Golf

Accepting Doña Julia’s golf proposal means having motivation and fully awake senses to enjoy the pleasure of playing golf. This itinerary designed by the prestigious architect Antonio García Garrido in 2005 has been built according to the USGA specifications regarding tees, greens, bunkers and drainage. Doña Julia is located in Casares, one of the most beautiful towns on the Costa de Sol situated between Marbella and Sotogrande.

The golf course has gone through different stages. Now, it is in excellent maintenance condition as time and necessary economic resources have been spent to upgrade the quality of services and facilities. All this joins together with exquisite customer attention that aims to help golf players enjoy a unique experience that lives on their memory and that goes beyond the 18-hole golf course.

Concerning golf, the course offers an interesting challenge. However, players can easily get distracted by the amazing views of the Mediterranean, the Sierra Bermeja Mountains and Ronda. Thus, we present a balanced course that offers a fun experience to any handicap player.

The sea and the mountain are endlessly present at Doña Julia. The first seven holes go uphill until you get to the tee in hole 8, the highest point of the golf course where you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views over the Mediterranean Sea. The next eleven holes on the way back also have different and yet impressive views of the surrounding mountains.

There are large greens located 700 m2 high on average and fairways are wide. Although some holes are challenging, we have a balanced course that presents a complete and fun round for any level player.

Doña Julia Golf is at its best moment due to different factors amongst which the club’s investment to renew its facilities this year is the most important. Also, new machinery has been purchased and thus, the course is maintained in perfect condition with impeccable greens all year, spotlessly ripped fairways free of weeds and well-kept roughs.

In addition, money has been invested in the expansion of human resources in different areas of the club. A caddy master and a new commercial department have joined the club. This department is going to carry out a commercial plan that will place Doña Julia in a prominent market position.

Regarding new features in the club’s restaurant facilities, changes are clearly visible. Refurbishment works have been carried out inside and outside the restaurant and this will enhance the club’s social life. A new specialized company in restaurant businesses is going to manage the restaurant and thus, a new menu has been prepared and professional personalized service will be highly appreciated by golf players.

The shop has been renewed and significantly improved by La Casa del golf. Now, golf players can find an extensive variety of material, designer clothes, and designer accessories.

The highlight of the year for Doña Julia was the purchase of the hotel plot located next to the golf course in April 2019. It means a significant change in the course as it will be set in a luxury resort.

The 50,000 square metre plot has been bought by Platinum Estates, a company based in Hong Kong owned by Harry and Roshni Mohinani. A 200 suite hotel, a 4,500 square metre spa and a country club will be built in this plot. Works have already started, they will take a year and a half approximately and 50 million euros will be invested.
