The German golf tourist

Sixty per cent choose destinations with direct flights. Mallorca, the Canary Isles and the Costa del Sol (Málaga) are the preferred destinations. The German golfer travels an average of 21 days a year, spending an average of €1,300 a week.

Golf in Germany

The German Golf Association has 640,000 members, a total that has risen by 3,000 in just the last year and by 32 per cent over the past 10 years. By sex, 60 per cent are men and the rest women, with one-third 60 years or over. This point is significant in that there has been an increase in the number of young golfers.
In addition, Spain is the first country outside their own to where German tourists seeking this kind of experience travel.
