Golf is one of the reasons why people travel worldwide and the Costa Blanca, in southeastern Spain, has become one of those paradises for visitors. Lying between the towns of Denia and Jávea is the Denia Marriott La Sella Golf Resort & Spa, a 5-star hotel in an area of ​​incredible natural beauty, with the spectacular mountain cliffs of the Montgó Natural Park as a backdrop.

Denia Marriott La Sella Golf Resort & Spa will open once again on June 1, 2021 after closing during to the COVID-19 pandemic. This 5-star Mediterranean-style resort, with modern yet cosy touches, has 178 rooms in different categories ranging from standard to Junior Suites with two separate rooms. Another accommodation option available at the resort is The Residences La Sella, the luxury apartment complex that was completely renovated in 2018.

This area is renowned for the quality of its food, and Jávea, Ondara and Dénia have four Michelin-starred restaurants between then – the latter has even been named Creative City of Gastronomy by UNESCO. So, it is only fitting that the resort has taken great care of its culinary offer in its two dining options: the Montgó Restaurant, which is dedicated to Mediterranean cuisine and set on a large, glazed terrace overlooking the golf course and the pool, and the Segaria Thai Restaurant where expert chefs from Bangkok serve a Thai menu that takes diners on a culinary journey through the exotic traditions of Thai cuisine.

The Islantilla hotel has been renowned for years by those travelling with a family and playing golf. Located in the Lepe district of the Costa de la Luz (Huelva province), the resort began operating under the DoubleTree by Hilton brand in 2020. This change saw a complete refurbishment of the hotel to meet the standards of an international name such as Hilton and it is the first and only hotel of this prestigious international franchise in Huelva. The opening is scheduled for June 18, 2021.

With 204 rooms in different categories, including 7 Junior Suites, 88 Superior rooms, 97 Double rooms and 12 Villas Suites, everything has been designed to set your body to holiday mode. This is particularly true of its beach club, on the seafront and surrounded by palm trees, where everything revolves around its two freshwater pools bordered by hammocks and the VIP area with Balinese beds with ‘a la carte’ massage service and live music.

A whole chapter is needed to describe the cuisine at the resort, famed for the local produce served in the beach club restaurant. Meat dishes, including traditional cured sausages from the Sierra de Huelva, and rice dishes with local seafood are on offer alongside international plates such as Japanese makis, niguiris, futomakis and uramakis, which guests can enjoy paired with Veuve Cliquot champagne.

Another accommodation option is The Residences Islantilla Apartments, perfect for enjoying a family holiday, a break with friends or a short or long-stay golf getaway. The 129 2-key-rated apartments, a few metres from the golf course, provide the comfort of a hotel and the privacy of an apartment. They each have a minimum size of ​​75 m2 across the two bedrooms and terrace and are equipped with all kinds of home comforts.

In addition, the resort has one of the best golf courses in Huelva. 27 holes nestling in the typical landscape of the Costa de la Luz and designed to offer different levels of difficulty; three choices of 18 holes for three different playing experiences.
